Aaaand cue Charles…cue burning ghost……roll ‘em!
This page is nothing like what was scripted, and I really have no excuse for the change except……I really wanted to draw a big, fat, dramatic page! I’m actually really glad I did…it was a joy to do from start to finish. This is the first time Eddie sees Charles, and I’ve got to say, it’s a hell of a first impression!
If dear Eddie hadn’t put on the ring at that very moment, who knows what would have happened? Would Charles have been able to defend the unwitting Eddie? Would Eddie have ended up like the poor Professor Lankhart? And why is it that Charles is surprised that his ghostly guns have no effect on the thing? All will be revealed in time, but first……….run, Eddie!!
A big thanks to letterer/designer extraordinare, Anthony Schiavino for picking a font/balloon package for Charles that really captures the creepy, authoritative feel of how he speaks.

Thanks Do. I’ve actually gone back into the balloons and adjusted the font even more. Not something that would have effected this page all that much but it fits the typeface and I like it much more. So unless this page is replaced look for it coming up. I really try to give each character their own feel coming at it from a movie production standpoint. If I do my job right you won’t even notice what I’m doing, leaving Dave’s work to shine through as it should.
